8vance extends ISO 27001 certification
8vance as the market leader in skills-based matching, holds a huge amount of personal data. Our algorithms continuously analyse over 80 million Dutch, German and English profiles and more than 25 million vacancies. With this data, we can suggest the best candidates for every vacancy and every project. We attach the greatest importance to keeping this data safe. Privacy takes centre stage in our processes, technology and culture. For maximum security, we are audited annually by an independent agency. Our ISO/IEC 27001 certificate is renewed every three years. This year we again passed with flying colours and have now been certified until 2025!
ISO 27001 is the international standard in the field of information security. It defines how information security can be controlled in a company, with the aim of ensuring confidentiality, integrity and availability of all information within the organisation. ISO certification is proof that the entire organisation is aware of the importance of information security. We want to handle information in a responsible and safe manner, identify security risks in time and take appropriate measures to prevent or minimise them. 8vance’s software is built on the principle of privacy by design. The user retains 100% control over what happens to their data. 8vance never shares personal data with third parties without user consent. We never process more data than is strictly necessary for the operation of the apps; the default settings of our apps are set to be as privacy-friendly as possible. We are fully compliant with AVG/GDPR guidelines. 8vance always works under a data processor agreement with organisations. We only process personal data to provide the best possible user experience.
And we’re going further
As a matter of fact, 8vance goes far beyond guidelines. Our mission is to make access to work barrier-free and equal for everyone. That is why our software does not allow the registration of data such as gender and ethnicity, so that no one can exclude or favour others in this respect. We use the latest software and open source to achieve our security goals. We have various pen tests performed on our applications on a regular basis.
No matter how well we do our best, for a fast-growing scale-up, every audit remains exciting, to see if everything is still up to scratch. Whether all procedures are properly described, explained and followed by everyone. There is a lot of hard work behind it, which isn’t always visible. As soon as we get the green light again, it’s cause for celebration. We again know what we are really doing it for! Our users, our customers and ourselves can all feel safe again. Hurray!
