We talk a lot about skills-based recruitment and labour market tightness. But to what extent are there any trends? The (labour market) economists and data researchers from ABN AMRO’s Economic Bureau and 8vance will explore this together. Dive with us into the dynamic world of labour market trends and the role of automation. Together, we will look deeper into the possible shifts in skills-focused recruiting and organising in times of labour market tightness.
Here are the key questions we address:
1οΈβ£ How does the recruitment landscape evolve over time? We will analyse 8vance data on profiles and vacancies to discover trends in skills, education levels and hard/soft skills in vacancies, including by sector.
2οΈβ£ To what extent do job ads consist of a skills set? And what effect does this have on the type of contracts? We will combine results with ABN AMRO’s shortage monitor, explore possible changes in sought-after skills and link this to labour market tightness indicators.
3οΈβ£ Automation and labour market: Do tightness and automation mutually influence each other? And if so, how? We will test hypotheses on changes in skills per job vacancy and the role of automation in multiple sectors.
4οΈβ£ The role of skills: We probe the types of skills demanded in various sectors and occupations, and unravel their connections with automation, mobility and future-proofing of the Dutch labour market.
The results will not only provide insights into the labour market, but may also have implications for mobility and future agility. Stay tuned to our discoveries!
